JOHANNESBURG – Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa insists the country has turned the corner in ending blackouts. 
He has revealed Eskom’s energy availability factor has reached 65.5 percent for the first time since 2021.
Ramokgopa hails this as a significant milestone in resolving the energy crisis in the country.

He says the return of units at several power stations is a welcome addition to generation capacity.
The minister says the country has breached what he calls ‘peak blackouts’.  
There has been no power cuts for over a month now.
